Needs analysis
Starting point: the real project context.
- Home, cabin, RV or camper van?
- What level of autonomy are you looking for?
- What is your approximate consumption?
- What are your constraints: space, weight, budget and climate?
Without this initial analysis, no recommendation has real value.
Technical comparison
Equipment is compared using objective criteria:
- Actual capacity and usable energy
- Efficiency and performance
- Weight and dimensions
- Service life and cycle count
- Compatibility with other components
- Operating conditions: cold, mobility and other constraints
Marketing specifications alone are not sufficient for a recommendation.
Usage context
A good product in the wrong context becomes a poor choice.
Factors considered:
- Actual use: daily, intermittent or mobile
- Climate, which is especially important in Quebec
- Installation constraints
- The system’s potential for future expansion
Clear recommendation
The recommendation specifies:
- What best fits your situation
- The solution’s strengths
- The important limitations to understand
- What is not suited to your needs
A recommendation does not seek a universal “best product”; it seeks the option most relevant to the use case.
